White Kitchen Love...
I'll be the first to admit that white kitchens are my absolute weakness. I adore the simplicity of a clean canvas to showcase pops of color or different textures. I'm currently in the midst of a complete kitchen renovation and (big surprise) we've gone with white as our inspiration.

Fun decor ideas for kids!
"Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again." -C.S.
Lewis
I am hardly the expert on kids themselves, but I know a cute and kid-friendly room when I see one. Long gone are the boring twin beds and plain toy boxes. Here are some decor and room ideas that are sure to ignite their imagination and creativity...

Flowers make the world go round!
With a neutral home like mine, I'm constantly using beautiful floral arrangements to inject some color. I love the way a bright pink display of peonies looks amongst a white marble countertop or a loose arrangement of ranunculus in the middle of an otherwise bare wooden table.

Gallery Wall Love.
I have a weakness for interesting frames. I seem to gravitate toward them wherever I go...I have way more frames than I even have photos to fill them, and if I actually put them all out, it would look like cluttered chaos, so I started thinking about a fun and eclectic way to show them off, and voilĂ !! Gallery wall love 101...

Gray+ Pink= My Heaven
"For me, the summer will be pure gray - mother-of-pearl gray, very pale gray. To me, this is the big statement for summer. Then we have light blue, light turquoise, and lots and lots of pink." -Gianni Versace
This post is really from my personal style point of view (and is exactly what I did in my place). I love the soft pink paired with the warm gray tones. When I decided to completely renovate my humble abode, I knew that this was the color palette I was going to use and I think it was a major success. Look for before and after photos to come!

Stylish, yet guy friendly...
“Decorate your home. It gives the illusion that your life is more interesting than it really is.” -Charles M. Schulz
While helping a guy friend decorate his posh new L.A. pad, it was important keep things masculine, but also with enough structure so it looked pulled together. We chose neutral pieces from Room and Board, Restoration Hardware and Crate & Barrel as our focal points, and filled in with accessories from West Elm, Design Within Reach, and even some great online stores like Gilt. Before & After photos to come!

Pick your palette...
“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for.” - Georgia O'Keeffe
Keeping it real with color this season is an easy way to put a little spring in your step. Go with what makes you feel most at home...for me, it's pale greys and seafoam greens...for today, anyway.

Out with the old and in with the blue
With summer just around the corner, I am constantly trying to think of new ways to brighten a home. Throw pillows, lamp shades, and rugs seem to do the trick without breaking the bank, and why not venture out with a new color that goes hand in hand with the sun? Call it a minor crush on the color blue...

"Show me your horse, and I will show you what you are..."
I can't think of a better focal point to a room than a piece of art that evokes something for everyone. I, myself am in love with the horse painting in my dining room. It somehow makes the room feel less stuffy, and I couldn't really ask for more. Check out some of these other great rooms and accessories that are all about the horse.
This striking photograph from Roberto Dutesco’s Horses of Sable Island series is the perfect accent to this bright living space. |
